Standard Chartered Kenya is involved in a 35-year-long legal dispute with Manchester Outfitters and Galot Industries, with an estimated liability of Sh32 billion. The case, which is one of the longest commercial cases in Kenya, was heard at the Supreme Court. The dispute centers on whether a bank holding a security must register it afresh for subsequent loan advances.
