"If I had to recommend one book to private equity folks it would be Alchemy by @rorysutherland PE is notoriously data obsessed. Thats not a bad thing but it can go too far. And when it does it limits progress. People in PE are trained to believe that 1) nearly anything can be known with data and 2) using data will enable you to make the best possible decision. I know because thats how I was trained and thats what was expected of me. But the reality is there are limits to logic. Alchemy was the book that helped me pivot from slavish data obsession to a broader point of view. Im still very data"
