"Some asking me 'how does the news of yet another XXX more costs to be added to energy bills by 2031' work after the govt's budget '150 off energy bills'. Many of you will have read me write before that the April Price Cap was predicted to rise due to increased network costs - these are much of those costs. This is just confirmation of it. So while wholesale rates are down the Price Cap would still be predicted to be rising X% in April but the budget announcement to shift some costs off the energy unit rates into general taxation means the Cap is now predicted to fall X% (tho its early days"
