Every space has values on paper and values in practice. And those two things rarely line up. In church at least everyone agrees on the text. You can point to a verse and say this is what we all signed up for. In VeeFriends (and every modern community) that anchor doesnt exist. No shared doctrine. No agreed-upon language. No unified ethic. Everyone defines the traits differently. Everyone projects their own"

"The concept of VeeFriendly within the @veefriends community is a dangerous term because it exposes that we all define VeeFriendly differently because we define kindness and friendship differently at a higher level. Thats not the VeeFriendly thing to do is a phrase Ive heard more than once. This mistake is the assumption of shared definitions and values just because youre community members. Dont extend your definition or concept of what it means to be a VeeFriend to anyone except yourself and youll avoid a whole lot of unnecessary friction"

"Totally agree that its their choice. They can choose it. I dont have to like it. Everyone is valid. My choice is to follow what Gary Vaynerchuk preaches which is to answer every comment and engage in every conversation you can for as long as you can and especially when youre just starting out. I shouldnt let it surprise me that all people who follow Gary dont all subscribe to that behavior set or mentality. But I can still choose what Gary preaches as my preference and suggest it and let others know I prefer it if they are doing it differently. And thats just my opinion"
