"I think he was talking about austerity (cutting spending to pay debt). Sometimes recessions come from austerity unfortunately. We are at XX% debt to GDP today (and a BB+ credit rating) because of the sacrifices in the last decade. What we did is then is what UK US France and other rich countries are avoiding today"

"According to IMF data from 2007-2016 Jamaica's GDP growth averaged XXX% while inflation averaged 9%. This means most Jamaicans on a fixed income saw a reduced living standards over the period. "Jamaica's real GDP growth rate is expected to average XXX% per year for the 2026-2030 period as per IMF estimates. Not conventional for a developing country but low growth is expected for the region itself. Falling birth rates outdated infrastructure and challenges in education are limitations"

"Big part of the asset inflation in the US bond market and stocks is anchored by the lack of new issuances relative to XX years prior. Investment flows have grown considerably while new assets have not caught up. Private markets (private credit PE VC secondaries) have crowded out traditional financial markets. Investees don't have to rely as much on IPOs to realize an exit and share buybacks are more tax-friendly than cash dividends for some firms"

"The significance of XXX% debt to GDP for the US is that it constrains the budget and means slow growth for the near to medium term. Slow growth in the US is a drag on consumer spending remittances and global trade. I know the US can print its own money"
