"I think it's great they got the chance to try and make a game they wanted to make but it's still a business and many lives at the studio depend on a succesful product. It's okay to realise that maybe this will not work out especially when you see a partner (NCSoft) do it way better. It's also not fun to reveal your game after [--] years to very lukewarm reception. "Yes but there should be leaders and people managing these teams that should run them through what this actually means & how we have seen very little sp teams succeeed. This happened way to late for Naughty Dog and now Guerrilla finds it out too. The legends mode should've been the solution. This was made by a smaller team inside Sucker Punch with later help from the whole team and still let them try that multiplayer approuch. It doesn't impact the single player output because it doesn't have to be a big live service game with 1000s of updates."
