"Phenomenal question and the key is patience. So obviously the level broke and you have two options (1) wait for a retest and hold -- aka prove our thesis or (2) move on to the next play. The first scenario is actually better and exactly what happened. It allowed premiums to deflate and sellers to be taken out in order to accelerate a run to key levels on the next break. "Going short is incredibly difficult. I believe I've said this before but taking puts with no news can be so challenging because buyers are always present. People looking to fomo into a wealth strategy or buy a "deal" always exist making puts a challenge. I find this exceptionally important today as both $AMD and $BA qualified for put plays but neither on news. That means get in and get out quick book your profits and move on. Good rule of thumb: - If going long look to book around +30% - If going short consider 20% your goal anything else is greed"
