We had only Ampicillin & Gentamycin as staple parenteral antibiotics. Ultrasound was a luxury. We diagnosed most pts by a thorough history & physical examination & X-rays. Yet we delivered results almost similar to the current era. We did it by meticulous asepsis rational antibiotic usage & astute clinical acumen assiduously passed on by the titans who strode the Govt Med Colleges of Tamilnadu then. New technology Robotics & AI r welcome but cannot replace clinical acumen & experience in Medicine.
