"Very relatable. A lot of times I find the "noisy head" arises when I have made a lot of progress in account growth. I think recency bias makes us feel as if we need to "keep up" the recent rapid rate of growth which can lead to forcing trades or "searching" for things that aren't there. I think we can counter it with logic by reminding ourselves that the frequency of opportunities is mean-reverting. Obviously easier said than done - but if in the midst of a strong run we can realize that hey I'm not a genius this will stop soon so I better be careful - then I think we can protect ourselves"
