Wyoming before 1980 had the largest known uranium ore reserves of any state in America. 1980 uranium prices crumble Jeffrey City in Wyoming losses XX% of it's population. Fast forward to 2020 one uranium mine left Smith Ranch-Highland mine owned by CAMECO $CCJ. TerraPower Natrium reactor project is located in Wyoming.
