"Thats not quite right. Yes XRP was pre-mined but so were Ethereum Cardano Stellar and Solana. Pre-mining just means the supply was created at launch not that its centrally controlled. Ripple (the company) doesnt own or run the XRP Ledger its open-source and validated globally. Ripple runs less than X% of nodes and anyone can build or issue assets on XRPL without their permission. Saying Ripple owned it first is like saying every dollar once belonged to the Fed or every Bitcoin once belonged to miners. Origin control. The ledger lives far beyond Ripple"
