"Well in my case I choose Electron for the ability to build a single code base that was totally cross platform and looked and acted almost identical on all platforms. As a single dev I don't have the resources or time to make separate apps per platform. Also you are correct there is a LOT of electron slop but electron gets a bad rap because of very poor developers. I care about my users -- so my app not only is fully usable in 1/3 of a SECOND but also takes considerable LESS memory then EITHER of the two other similar apps in my eco-system. One of them being C/C++ and the other Rust based."
