"Not really $PKI.TO distributions were taxed by shareholders outside registered accounts and if PKI was held in Registered accounts like RRSP the proceeds will be taxed coming out of RRSPs. As we know withdrawals outpace RRSP contributions :)) CRA works on Accrual Accounting thats 100% The Income Trust issue could of been solved very easily grandfather all Income Trusts in RRSP and then disallow Income Trusts in RRSP and TFSA accounts going forward.
