"I would imagine as long as the players got more $$$ in the new system they would be happy. Using Spotrac data total MLB salaries were roughly $5.27B So use that as your base and add XX% to it gets you roughly $5.8B in salaries Divide that by XX gets you to an average of $193M So make $195M the midpoint with $245M as the cap and $145M as the floor phased in over a reasonable time period with increases based on league revenues growth. Once again this is a simplistic analysis so dont get caught up in the numbers but the main idea is give the total MLB union more $$$ in aggregate - grow the pot"
