"I went into XDTE and plan on getting into SDTY. I Trimmed very heavily out of RoC adjusted high income funds. These downturns slaughter the price and the distribution amount gets adjusted downward in proportion to the yield %. No hate but I need steady income and twas a heavvvyyy lesson. "That was my mistake with chasing yield when I first started. The funds cannibalized itself (eroded) as I simply didnt have the capital to reinvest enough. I can see max yield funds like $ULTY / $ULTI have a specific use case but as distribution amount adjusts lower to fund pricing over time. thats where I trapped myself. I think $KYLD is going to be one of the better 35-36% weekly payers due to the fact that it can swap holdings alongside a robust options strategy.
