"I think it is interesting if it exists. Or if there is a huge retained loss. says a lot about the history. Just thinking out loud it can likely - generally - be so that if assets are financed with retained earnings it is "older capital" and there is a larger chance that there is hidden values behind them. If they are financed with paid-in capital in full perhaps there is less "forgiveness" into the values (likely more recent assets). but those dynamics could of course be reached from studying the asset side as well. so no not really but I've always had a hunch that there is something"
