"I recommend reading @AndrewThrasher's paper on forecasting volatility events. He reports the 'volatility risk trigger' in his subscription which is an improved version but the 'volatility tsunami' method that he published in [----] is still a great alert and proved itself valuable again. Once we're in a volatility event I also like to use a combination of a Keltner channel and regression channel (anchored to the previous VIX extreme).
