"@investseekers E.g. a sudden news comes out the management sold a big chunk (all) of Tencent to buy a ton of some bad assets. The shares of the proxy could dump hard and fast giving you no time to sell. I know worst case scenario but possible. Owning directly just feels more natural to me"

"@investseekers Why on earth would they sell Tencent shares to do that Sell other crappy holdings go into debt but don't sell the best you have got. Nobody cares about owning more of the proxy company. Their only value is their Tencent holding"

"@investseekers You don't own more Tencent that is what would bother me. You own more shares of a proxy. Who is to say they won't dump it all eventually and use that to buy some crappy company What is the value of you owning more shares of theirs in that case"
