"We do a "mini payday" scheme which pays us back every Monday. How this works: She'll get paid then cover all out goings bills etc first that's important. Anything left over is set aside for food and savings and the mini pay day scheme. Luxuries are a no go especially if you are struggling. Sadly - you have to forgo those until you are in a situation to do that later on. Then with whatever is remaining we put that into a separate account a savings account for example then we transfer a small amount each week as an "allowance" to ourselves. this way it is a set amount we must only use that"
