"New Orleans lost the New Orleans Jazz to Utah when the franchise was sold. When the Charlotte Hornets moved to New Orleans the owners tried to buy the Jazz name back from Utah which was puzzling. Utah isnt exactly known for Jazz. But when New Orleans got a new franchise they became the Pelicans which was the name of the New Orleans baseball Pelicans a minor league team of the Pittsburgh Pirates that folded. Pelicans is a good name. Its the state bird. But a lot of us still miss Jazz"
