"A few months ago I charged a man on a domestic charge for beating his wheelchair bound wife with a shoe because she urinated on herself. I go to court today & the charges got dismissed because she didn't show for court. This is VERY common in domestics. Something needs done legislatively to allow body cam footage to be enough evidence to convict someone when a victim doesn't show up for court. If officers have to arrest when there is physical signs of injury then the law needs to lean in favor of prosecution rather than defense which is what is happening when a victim doesn't show for court"
