"I don't see how disc brakes could be MORE aero. I'd need to see the study on that. Rim brakes can be positioned and shaped to be aerodynamic. I will acknowledge the caliper size. I think XX is the biggest tire size you can reliably get away with although I have known people to run 30's depending upon which wheel they had. For braking surface I don't have enough experience with rim brakes on carbon wheels to know if it will wear out the braking surface and necessitate a new wheel or how long that would take. I still say however that for road bikes unless you're doing mountain descents in the"

"I've got a Litespeed Arenberg I got last year that has a Shimano Di2. It's "semi-wireless." There's still the wires going from the battery to the derailleurs but the shifters are wireless. Alas I had to go with the disc. Litespeed no longer offers rim brake frames. I imagine Shimano will go to full wireless when they come out with their XX speed whenever that is. Rim brakes won't disappear tomorrow. They will live on for a long time to come on eBay and the used bike market. But for new stuff I'm afraid the disc juggernaut is unstoppable"
