"Arguably German car manufactures incl. Mercedes have dropped the ball in the past this does not mean they cannot pick it up again. Also opposed to Tesla they are committed to B2C sales whereas Tesla/Elon made it very clear it plans to exit B2C sales in the foreseeable future. Also it is indeed not clear who will win the race but remember the dead-said live longer and the current increasing arrogance from Tesla/Elon in regards to the real world is not a great trend either. "Not true. First of all it is not yet Level [--] certified although on paper it should be able to fit the requirements with the NVIDIA Alpamayo engine. Second the SEA autonomous drive levels are not a German invention but based on UNECE criteria and multiple countries involved. "They already lost it. It just took the one or the other longer to understand that. Mercedes and BMW both have the technology to survive in the EV era as they have their own research. Recommend to take a read at @evclinic on both their battery tech. And keep in mind also an EV needs motors suspension and battery management which requires your own IP if you want it fit for your customers. Unfortunately in EU the FSD stack is really old and regulations currently do not allow the roll out of the new one (might change). "Doubtful that it will work. With such low salary (in order to be granted the subsidies) a 30k EUR car is out of league. IMHO it would be smarter to return to the roots and give Supercharging for free. That takes away a key worry for people in that income range.
