"Creating an English country garden. Plant things that conjure up a romantic dreamy feeling. My favourites include wisteria hydrangeas clematis roses honeysuckle foxgloves hollyhocks geraniums dahlias zinnias sweet peas and scabius. I have a mix of plants in the ground as well as in pots to add more layers. Potted olive trees are also a favourite of mine. Consider a style that is soft and fluid not ordered or designed and an expanse of green grass is in my opinion still a quintessential part of an English country garden.
