"Heres another Perlin noise inspired drawing made by Ink Bot a pen plotter robot I designed and programmed. This was a custom made piece for @Cancington Knots . Enjoy Perlin noise is a form of pseudo-random noise often used in graphics to generate smooth organic-looking patterns like landscapes clouds or water. For this piece I built a grid of values using a Python Perlin noise function then mapped sine waves across it row by row. The grid values controlled each waves amplitude and frequency. I was trying to randomly vary the frequency and amplitude of a sine wave that travels across each row. I accidentally multiplied two values inside of the sine function instead of adding them and this was the result.
