"Trinity Alps Wilderness - Stuart Fork Trail near Weaverville CA This trail is mostly shaded and travels along the Stuart Fork. I backpacked out to Morris Meadows and hiked to Emerald Lake to enjoy the day. There are camps on multiple spots along the river so you don't have to hike all the way out. The icy water of the river is just as refreshing as the lake. 😁 Happy Hiking norcal norcal"

"Backpacking on the Swift Creek Trail out to Foster's Cabin The cabin was occupied when I got out to it but the river was great for cooling off. I ended up making camp by another section of the river which was nice to swim after hiking all day. I slept for the first time in my hammock way more comfortable in my opinion that being on the ground (sleeping pad in a tent). Lots of flowers wildlife plenty of shade cool water. Smoke blew in from Forks of the Salmon but the smoke cleared out by Sunday. Outdoors Outdoors"

The hike out was about 11+ miles from where I parked (Tuolumne Meadows Wilderness Center) with about [----] ft in elevation gain. "Purple Lake (Mammoth Lakes CA USA) The hike up from Iva Bell Hot Springs to Purple Lake was hard up hill but mostly shaded. Following the edge of the lake the camp spots are all in the same area of the lake. But there are some single spots by the meadow but I recommend hiking past the initial (more crowded area) over the small ridge and camping with a view of the lake through trees. The walk to water is slightly longer but then you aren't camped right up against other backpackers. Swimming here was so nice not too cold to linger. backpacking backpacking"

"Natural Bridges is a hidden gem 💎 (Near Angel's Camp CA) You can swim or float the water in the cave is chilly but warmer as you reach either end. The hike down I did in crocs it's mostly sunny but not hard. "Little Bear Lake (Trinity Alps Wilderness CA) Backpacked out to Little Bear Lake past Wee Bear Lake and also day hiked over to Big Bear Lake. A storm rolled in but it was still very beautiful heard thunder but didn't see lightning. We also saw lots of fog and cloud movement. Caught some fish released then and I was the only one swimming.
