This truck might not be a money pit after all Bought this gmc Sonoma 4x4 two weeks ago for cheap on FBMP (pretty dumb i know but it was too good to pass up) and have been fixing things here and there and just yesterday while Im underneath it eyeballing the spacing around the exhaust to pull the stock 2-4 trans servo and replace with the corvette servo i happened to notice something red sitting in the bottom shock mount pulled this sucker out and cleaned off about [--] years worth of dirt and crap caked on it. TLDR: Rattling/clogged catalytic converter was the source of transmission shifting issues & MAF code The super long story: I purchased an [--] Sonoma 4x4 with the 4.3l and just under 150k miles for what I think is pretty cheap on FBMP about [--] weeks ago the guy said its started having transmission issues and wasnt going to mess with it and decided to sell. He said it was jolting in gear and also hesitating to shift intermittently but still driveable just not at highway"

"Changed the plugs at 148k Ive had this truck for [--] weeks fixed some random stuff like catalytic converter and some transmission stuff dash panels were all cracked and its finally looking somewhat like a reasonable backup rig now. When changing the plugs i noticed the passenger side plug wires are different from the driver side wires the drivers side ones had Delphi markings and actually had [--] - [--] - [--] markings on each wire the passenger side had 90deg boots on the front two cylinders and the rear had a straight boot. The passenger side wires said high heat 7mm markings on them that werent on"

"Crazy how much difference a small lift can make Still needs some fine tuning but looks way better now more like a 4x4 truck should. Cheap $70 Amazon 3in lift kit with rough country shocks that accommodate 2-4in lift on front and rear. Its sitting at about 1in of rake currently but rides hard as rock in the front cause i have the torsion keys cranked up pretty close to max height. Going to try lowering the front a bit and letting a little tension off the torsion keys to try and get it a touch softer and take a little bit of the angle back out of the cvs but otherwise its a truck so it aint"

"Oil pan is FINALLY off IYKYK [----] GMC Sonoma 4x4 with the 4.3l. Holy hell surprisingly the hardest part was getting the damn transmission hard lines out of the way to clear the back lip of the pan to get it down. Figured while i have the diff out to do the diff drop bracket id give the ol girl a new pan gasket and remote oil adapter some new gaskets. By far the hardest part was just trying to get those trans lines out of the way. Everything else was just time consuming and following step by step the instructions on s10 forum. Im also planning on doing the intake manifold gasket and valve"

"Losing my mind with this valve cover gasket Cannot get this damn thing to seal. This is the second fel-pro blue gasket and it still leaks. Yes i followed the proper torque sequence and got them all to 80in-lb small dab of rtv in the right spots in the vvt side. "3 springs in my 1-2 accumulator 4l60e As the title states I was installing my sonnax 1-2 accumulator piston and discovered [--] springs in the original plastic piston wasnt sure if that was how it was stock so i installed the sonnax with all [--] springs and Im 99% sure thats the culprit behind my high rpm 1-2shifting (almost 5k rpm at 3/4 throttle and almost 25-3k at gentle cruising). Its an orange outer white middle and i think orange inner. Can anyone tell me which spring/springs to remove to bring it back to stock/slightly firmer than stock shifting at normal rpms [----] Sonoma 4x4 4.3l for"
