I decided to run through all the calibration and setup from the manual to familiarize myself with it. While trying to set the counterweight I encountered this strange issue. The manual says to adjust the balance until the tonearm floats freely above the platter. But as you can see it wont float above the platter because it drifts laterally back toward the resting position.
