"Rashomon (1950) directed by Akira Kurosawa is indeed a cinematic masterpiece. I strongly revere Akira Kurosawa for how he did Rynosuke Akutagawas work with justice and tact. Its beyond impressive because I read Akutagawas work first and he was firstly extraordinary and legendary. I have to say this film does deserve the hype it gets. This may sound clich but yes the film is a masterpiece; it is really. There is a lot to say about this iconic film directed by Kurosawa as the ambiguity strangeness action interactions dialogue and imagery has been executed well to show the audience watching it"

The film itself as I watched it was a tumultuous and heavy piece of cinema as the conflicts and adventures of Gelsomina (played by Giulietta Masina) were raised in intensity by the other character of Zampan (played by Anthony Quinn). The performances and the flamboyant innocent expressions of Masina were quite funny to me and the barbaric actions of Quinn on screen were also striking. Above all this was a tragic tale; the ending was sad as I think that Zampan was in shock of what happened"
