I'm professional and dedicated but don't have any delusions of "making it." I just wanna create some good songs with great people gig around town once in a while record. "What should I do with this A coworker gave this to me because she knows I'm a drummer but I've never messed with e-drums or any electronic drums. It's a Roland KD-120. Do I need a bunch of other gear to make this do anything Is it simply a trigger I'm an acoustic drummer and don't envision myself ever seriously investing in electronic drums but welcome any tips or dumb ideas to do something fun with this if it's worth the effort. drums drums"

"Seeking ideas for more baubles doodads and farkles to add to my kit. Aside from a fairly typical 4-piece kit and a smattering of cymbals I've got an antique cash register/telephone bell combo rigged up to my right. The wood block on my kick drum gets some regular use and the hat trick is always on top of my hats. I've been trying to think of other little noisemakers that I could attach to my cymbals stands or rims of my drums but I'm coming up short. Anybody have any dumb ideas drums drums"

If this is what happens in shipping how's it gonna perform when I actually use it Thankfully Knife Center will be shipping me a replacement. knifeclub knifeclub"

I'm thinking about having it serviced to wear again but I have a couple questions for the community. "Question Anybody know where I can find a similar band to fit a 9.5" wrist I am a large man with giant ham hands and I'm having my mom's 1950s Mickey Mouse watch serviced to wear. "Any Art Car communities to join or start As a child back in the 90s I loved joining my parents in Art Car parades and shows. It was a fun community and the events were alway very welcoming and full of joy. I just finished painting my van and I've seen a few other entertaining vehicles around town. Are there any communities for coordinating Art Car events or interest in forming a community I'd love to contribute some joy and genuine home-grown art to the city askportland askportland"

"My drum obsession is adding more percussion bits without adding more stands and hardware. I love adding percussion pieces to my kit. I feel it helps me stand out as a musician. But I hate adding hardware and stands. I'm always working to consolidate my hardware and minimize my set-up time. Today I figured out how to attach a vintage telephone bell to an LP guiro block using parts of a tube lug I'm pretty proud of this one I'd love to hear of anyone else's creative percussion implementation. drums drums"

"Steel vs Zinc snare hoops I'm considering swapping out the hardware from chrome to brass on my black galaxy Acro. I'm looking around a couple different sites for the best deals and I'm at a conundrum. Drum Factory Direct has brass plated 2.3mm triple flange hoops available made from Steel. Drum Supply House has brass plated 2.3mm triple flange hoops available made from Zinc. What's the difference I'm mainly confused because I thought zinc was what made die cast hoops but these are definitely not listed at die cast prices. I'd appreciate any clarity more experienced drummers can offer. drums"

"Decided to dress up my Blacrolite. Or maybe dress down. I've got a modest collection of vintage and interesting snare drums. Of course this bellybutton is one of my best. But it was boring I ordered some polished brass tube lugs and hoops from DFD and stripped off the clear lacquer. My day job is at an antique salvage shop that does restoration so I "aged" the brass in an acid solution from work. Figured it wouldn't hurt to upgrade the throw off while I was at it but finding a decent brass one was a bitch so the P86C will have to do. Snare still sounds just as great as ever but I think it"

"Nikon wireless adapter worth it I'm working my way back into photography as a hobby and just got a good deal on a D810 with a couple lenses. I'm not sure what other features to be concerned with but I'm primarily interested in getting photos off the camera to edit and process. I've only got a tablet with Snapseed to process photos until I can afford a desktop computer later on down the line. Is Nikon's wireless adapter the best bet for getting photos from my camera to my tablet or would I be better off with a USB-C type SD card reader I'm open to other considerations this group can provide"

"Just got a D810. Love the camera Frustrated with my processing options. I'm working my way back to photography as a hobby after feeling burnt out on the experience from years ago. I'm really enjoying the D810 and the lenses Ive got for it. Just a satisfying experience in general while out shooting. Processing the photos at home is another thing. "DSLR sack Protecting camera while tossed in my pack I'm seeking ideas for some lightweight protection for my DSLR with typical sized lens for while it's in my day pack. My Nikon D810 is often in my every day bag along with a water bottle Tupperware full of lunch maybe a flask of whiskey etc. I just want something to keep leftover fried rice from potentially spilling into my camera or scratching the back screen on whatever might be sharing space in my pack.
