"I can give some color to this. Back in 2022 i was pushing for more simplification of the base layer and shorter block time. Eth went a path of overcomplicating and prioritizing features that were benefitting inferior tech to let them on par with ZK (and undercutting the business model of Eth: aka the blobs) Starknet just pushed where this tech matters: BTC and Zcash. Today ZK is no longer appreciated on ETH: the full dependence of eth on solvers to solve interoperability the acceptance of single centralized optimistic rollup and the whole BS over restaking etc"
