You say “of course they are destroying it [Gaza] for geopolitical gain” which is an assertion of intent that is based on thin air—your personal convictions. Occam’s Razor presents a set of straightforward alternatives. Defeating Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza is the only way to ensure Oct X doesn’t happen again; given how deeply embedded they are in civilian areas and infrastructure which they have prepared for warfare over the past the decades, the IDF faces choices that amount to unacceptable troop losses or combined air/ground operations, which are the gold standard in urban warfare. The result is widespread destruction to infrastructure. The Netzarim corridor alone required the demolition of entire blocks but was militarily necessary in order to disrupt north-south Gaza militant movements and establish requisite logistics for IDF operations inside the enclave.
Let’s not get mixed up here. It is altogether possible to abhor war, detest its destruction and impact on uninvolved civilians and support the swiftest end to it possible, while also acknowledging that the horrors of war are not necessarily war crimes and certainly not the product of genocidal intent.
