in the case of TNA and AEW, capital was raised on the premise of a multi billion dollar property, WWE, having no competition. Same way capital was raised off UFC's success in late 2000s (affliction, pro elite, IFL) and late '10s (One & PFL). Without a dominant incumbent, it's a tough sell to raise capital. The thought is always 'if we can be 5-10% of WWE or UFC, we'll still be rich'... sounds nice but doesn't work out that way typically.
