XX lawmakers survived a huge recall vote, locking in a legislature that can stonewall President Lai at every turn.
Kuomintang Party Chair Eric Chu bragged that voters “chose stability, chose that the government should focus on getting things done.”
Critics say it feels more like freezing Taiwan’s progress to make room for Beijing’s favorite politicians.
With another recall vote next month, the ruling party’s agenda is basically stuck in political traffic with China holding the stop sign.
