That's exectly the reason why L2 will be much better than Solana in the long run
You can optimise for the security & decentralisation or for the speed, performance and blocktimes it's always trade offs. Ethereum L1 optimises for security, CR, uptime, decentralisation level while L2s optimise for UX and speed
They are inheriting Ethereum's L1 security & decentralisation (based rollups). They don't have consensus overhead. Solana is stuck in the middle and in the long run it will just lose because of the architecture design
It's competing with L2s, not Ethereum L1.
