It was doing really well in the 80s, but with the expansion of cable, the territories weren't going to last. Would someone else been able to make wrestling so popular that the business would have thrived and lasted today? AWA & WCCW had national TV deals but didn't last. Even with Ted Turner's backing, WCW was struggling until they got Hogan. But if WCW never got Hogan, do you think it would have lasted the Time Warner / AOL merger?
