MRR tactical nuclear (spicy) strike, although so many people still think it was a drone strike. 😆😒

As @MstrKapln braught to my attention the other day. In 1945, the official explanation for the flash, mushroom cloud and shockwave to keep secret from the public was an accident at Alamogordo Bombing Range. Even back then they used the “ammo depot” excuse to cover nuclear weapon use.

The key differences here is it’s been XX years and that device was rudimentary, although still technical.

People will argue, what about radiation?

I would argue back, you don’t think in XX years they figured out cleaner more efficient designs?

The CIA for example released a report in 1963, “ The Soviet Journal of Atomic Energy” where referance is made into theoretical designs for MRR nuclear weapons. ( minimum residual radiation)

In 1962, the US performed the Housatonic test shot. XXX megatons, XX% clean. This in part to design, but also because it was airburst at XXXXXX feet. Thus, eliminating the contact of remaining fissionable material with the ground and eliminating fallout.

So be it design advancements or detonation methods. We can see that the idea of clean, efficient nuclear weapons has been in the works from at least the early 1960’s, maybe even earlier.
