9TH CIRCUIT "SLAPS" DOWN ANTI-2ND AMENDMENT GOV. NEWSOM'S AMMO LAW
The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a district court's preliminary injunction halting enforcement of a law requiring background checks and permitting of gun owners in order to purchase ammunition for their weapons.
The Court struck down the California law holding that it "meaningfully constrains the right to keep operable arms" under the Constitution. It also found that background checks were inconsistent with any historical gun control that had been enacted prior to the 20th Century.
