I think someone needs to hear it.
I still remember the day I tried to bridge my first tokens across chains. Everything looked simple on paper, just connect wallet, select amount, approve transaction. But in crypto, nothing ever goes just like that.
I sent $XXX worth of tokens through the bridge. Or so I thought.
A small detail I missed, gas fee imbalance. The transaction failed, but the tokens were gone. No trace, no refund, no support line.
I was shattered. Not because of the money alone, but because it was the first time I genuinely felt defeated by Web3.
I started to question everything:
— Why am I even here? — Am I just pretending to understand this space? — Is this how people really lose their savings?
That night, I unplugged completely from the space.
But something weird happened two days later. I got a notification from a bounty platform I had completely forgotten about. My write-up on smart contract education for beginners had been selected and featured.
I earned back more than I lost. But more than that, I earned a new layer of belief in what I could bring to the space.
Turns out that my greatest gain didn’t come from trading. It came from contributing. From showing up, even when I felt dumb, drained, and invisible.
Sometimes the blockchain takes from you, sometimes, it gives back in ways you don’t expect through your voice, your skills, your story.
Let this remind you: Losses don’t define your crypto journey. Your comeback does.
I'm glad I shared this story with @MeteoriteCol on the @StoriesDotFun campaign.
So tell me, What’s your $REDEEM story?
