NFL Team Report (Buccaneers): The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are reportedly interested in signing franchise quarterback Baker Mayfield to a long-term contract extension, according to Buccaneer general manager Jason Licht (via The Athletic). Entering 2025, Mayfield has two years remaining on his current deal with the Buccaneers.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht spoke with The Athletic about an extension for Baker Mayfield, in which Licht stated.

“I love Baker. I love everything he’s done for us. The goal for us is for Baker to continue to be the player that he is, and at some point, we reach an extension when the time is right, and he continues to be our quarterback for a long time. That’s the goal.”

Mayfield, 30, joined the Buccaneers in 2023, and in two years with the team, he has elevated the team to back-to-back playoff appearances, and personally, he has put his best stat seasons together. In 2024, Mayfield finished the season with XXXXX passing yards, XX touchdowns, and XX interceptions.

According to Sportac, Mayfield has a projected market value of $XXXX million per person on his next deal.
