As most of us remember vividly, AOC wore a “Tax the Rich” dress to a $30K Met Gala... but now we're finding out that she didn’t pay for the dress, the styling, or her boyfriend’s meal.
House Ethics just confirmed she violated House Gift Rule policy by accepting thousands in goods and services from a Black-owned, female-led brand—then only paying up after getting caught.
She still owes:
• $XXXXXXXX to Brother Vellies (the designer)
• $XXX for Riley Roberts’ meal
• A donation to the Met’s Costume Institute
No sanctions, though-- just pay quietly and it goes away.
The report shows:
• Her staff leaned on the designer to lower costs
• Payments were delayed for months
• She let vendors handle compliance instead of her own office
• And she blamed her team, saying she wasn’t “privy to the invoices”
This is the same woman who lectures America on “equity,” wealth, and ethics—yet couldn’t manage a fashion invoice without a federal ethics probe.
She didn’t pay for the dress. She didn’t pay for the glam. She didn’t pay for the guest ticket. But she sure paid lip service to “taxing the rich.”
You couldn’t script this hypocrisy if you tried.
