some tips:
literally the very first thing you should do after you create a file bucket is block public access (infrastructure as code solves this).
don't mix concerns in the same bucket. temporary (driver's license photo) and long term (images attached to posts) should go to different buckets. this one is controversial, but the reason is that not all providers support folder specific lifecycle policies. if yours does, go nuts.
don't break promises ("don't worry, we delete this after we verify your gender").
don't hold onto data for longer than needed (pictures attached to deleted conversations).
