Yes but XX% of the world isn’t using crypto especially those in poorer countries where remittances are a major part of their income. All those people are using cash.
They’re not sending crypto through western union…
Western Union is using the crypto to make the cash money that they are sending, get their faster and cheaper.
So instead of sending $1000 for a $XX fee that will be ready in 30-45 minutes to be picked up…I can send a $1000 for $XXXX and it will be there in less than XX seconds
It frees up all the money western Union has to hold (until everything clears) it’s done faster, quicker saving western unions millions of dollars while simultaneously keeping them relevant. There’s less of a work force and overhead needed (ie: employee insurance, retail space, rent, etc.) so they will save a ton globally by letting AI & Crypto run the business.
