facts. most winners did start with a tokenholder-first mindset. bitcoin sold itself as sound money. ethereum made the token essential to using the network. ripple was early bank rails. pengu and hyperliquid both leaned heavy into early ownership and low float mechanics.

but what actually kept them relevant was the shift from token-first to a tight feedback loop where the product, usage, and token all reinforced each other.

ETH didn't survive just because of its narrative it had unstoppable dev activity, DeFi, and infra adoption. hyperliquid used the token to bootstrap, but now it's shipping vaults, UX upgrades, and tools non-stop. even pudgy penguins evolved from memes into toys, licensing, and culture IP.

megaeth is clearly prioritizing the right things early community, scarcity, aligned values. that's a strong foundation. but without product speed and compounding usage, the token narrative alone won’t carry it for long.

so the real question is how fast can they build a loop where the token isn't just a buy-in, but a value mirror of actual usage?

and when you say “community ownership,” are we talking just distribution, or something deeper like governance over value flows?
