Tulsi Gabbard is likely to run in 2028 and has a strong chance of becoming the first female president. Though it's early, she currently appears to be the strongest candidate.
She ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020 but withdrew in March. She claimed a “coordinated effort by individuals within our own government” sabotaged her campaign, labeling it “treasonous.” Hillary Clinton called her a “Russian asset.”
In 2022, Gabbard left the Democratic Party, criticizing its leadership as an “elitist cabal of warmongers,” and became an independent. In 2024, she endorsed Donald Trump for president and joined the Republican Party.
