DYK, The inclination angle of BrahMos launchers does influence the missile’s launch dynamics, but it is accounted for in the missile's design.
- The inclination angle (usually 30–45°) helps direct the thrust away from the deck, avoiding damage from the HOT launched Missile booster( i.e. Brahmos)
-At ignition, the booster imparts 15–20 g force within millisecs, Inclination does not significantly increase G-force, but it changes the direction of the net force vector.
- The inclination pre-aligns the missile in the general direction of the target, reduces the need for aggressive attitude correction right after launch.
it Minimizes the yaw/pitch moment stress on missile fins and control actuators.
- Inclined launch requires the missile’s INS and control surfaces to correct flight path from the initial trajectory...guidance algorithm compensates automatically, so no loss in accuracy occurs.
