If I had to guess, probably because most people don’t think murder is a solution to anything and they don’t want to eat shitty prison food for the rest of their lives. From the little information that’s been presented so far, it sounds like his issue was with his surgeon and not an insurance company that wasn’t even his. I will say, based on my own nearly XX years of similar back problems, I didn’t see a problem with the postoperative X-ray supposedly from his posting of it but back pain is worse than anything else I’ve experienced and pain management has become a joke, especially in this country. Living with chronic, crippling pain starting at such a young age and for someone who clearly prided himself on being fit and healthy, changes your personality and drives you into a deep depression; I was XX when I first herniated a disc and it took X years to have surgery to fix it after I herniated a second disc and I remember begging the ER doctor to send me home with enough morphine to kill myself the night I had emergency surgery.
When you’re young, doctors don’t believe you when you tell them your back hurts, even if you’ve had some sort of accident that would cause it. I was told more than once that it was my insurance that wouldn’t approve diagnostic scans only to get my records and discover that my doctor just refused to order them.
The truly sad thing is that if he really did commit this crime, he has only guaranteed himself a very long future of zero pain management except OTCs in prison.
