Meh. I don't like the idea of schools promoting rock/metal/punk to kids. I say that as metal/rock fan literally commenting from his band's account. Rock and roll is supposed to be antiestablishment, and the establishment promoting it undermines the very purpose of rock and roll and kids will start looking at it as boring and for old people, much like the lame old people music they pushed on us in music class in the 90's and prior.
School music programs should focus on classical music and let kids discover rock/metal on their own.
Schools doing shit like this reminds me of hearing grunge bands in fucking grocery stores, or seeing people who don't even listen to Nirvana wearing Nirvana shirts because they found it at Walmart and thought it was a fashion brand. It cheapens the legacy of metal/rock.
