This 'ComputeFi' that's we've been shouting on the tl, Cysic has finally explained it.
It was explained that ComputeFi was described as the process of turning the internet’s 'invisible engine' into a monetizable and investable asset just like I explained in my 'difference between nodes and Cysic'.
It was noted that while demand for compute continues to grow rapidly due to AI models, high performance computing and zero-knowledge cryptography, much of the existing infrastructure like enterprise GPUs and consumer hardware remains underused, leading to wasted capital.
It was said that ComputeFi coordinates this idle compute by connecting providers, from enterprise clusters to mobile devices, with builders who need to run AI inference, ZK proving and other workloads, allowing node holders to earn revenue.
It was highlighted that this turns compute into a liquid, yield generating market accessible beyond tech giants, similar to how Filecoin and Helium tokenized storage and bandwidth.
Cysic was described as one of the few teams in crypto creating custom ASICs built for zero-knowledge workloads, capable of over XXX million Keccak operations per second while also supporting AI inference. It was also mentioned that Cysic operates the network these chips run on and is expanding into AI inference through Cysic AI, compounding its revenue streams.
It was stated that this model is turning idle hardware into income, creating permissionless access and real yield, with the upcoming ComputeFi Node NFTs representing verifiable on-chain compute, shares of AI and ZK workloads, and stakes in the infrastructure that powers the internet.
