🇰🇷 Newcastle United has officially announced the signing of highly-touted South Korean winger Seung-soo Park from K League X side Suwon Bluewings. The 18-year-old talent will join the club's Academy and integrate with the Magpies' U21 squad.
Park brings a solid foundation of experience, having made XX senior appearances for the Bluewings, contributing one goal and three assists. He has also represented South Korea at the U20 level five times.
"It's a huge honour to join Newcastle United," Park stated. "It's a big step for me and I feel incredibly thankful for the faith the club have shown in me. I'm excited to develop here, learn from the coaches, and give everything to become the best player I can be."
A product of Suwon Bluewings' youth system, Park made history in June 2024 by becoming the youngest goalscorer in South Korean professional football, netting in a 1-1 draw against Ansan Greeners FC.
Academy Director Steve Harper expressed his enthusiasm for the new addition: "Park is an exciting young talent with real potential. He's already shown maturity beyond his years in a competitive environment and we're delighted to welcome him to the club." Harper emphasized that Park's signing underscores the club's dedication to "identifying and developing elite talent from across the globe," crediting the recruitment network for their diligent work. He added, "We've seen our talent pathway produce some outstanding success stories in recent seasons and Park now joins a group of young players with that same opportunity ahead of them."
